Console messages are not logged. That's what distinguishes them from comms messages. If you want a message to be logged, use a comms message.Zireael wrote:2) Have a key for console message log just like there's ~ for comms log.

Re: Split: Difficulty for new players
Extending the security zone around the station is not the answer. Even if it would cover the whole system, what use would that be for a player under attack at the witchpoint? The witchpoint is so far away from the main station that it isn't worthwhile launching police from there. You'd be long dead ...

Re: CustomShieldsv083.oxp(NEW RELEASE)(Sept. 24, 2012)
Okay, I can't say anything about behaviour in trunk, except that trunk will cause unexpected and weird behaviour. Trunk is not meant for playing, only for testing. Thus, while testing with trunk and encountering a problem, you should always make clear which trunk version you're using, and probably p...

Re: Split: Difficulty for new players
A warm welcome from me as well, Falcon777! :D That's some very good ideas and observations you're offering. Getting some input and perspective from a fresh player is what we need, because for the veterans it's difficult to pretend to be fresh again. I'd like to add another angle to the points raised...

That's probably the reason why the release dates are in the list.Switeck wrote:The date of the release is important too, since OXP version numbers have nothing to do with Oolite version numbers.

Solonar, which Oolite version are you using, and which version of CustomShields?

Re: OXP Collection
I think the best place of the version and download url metadata is the OXP List, else authors must update these in a different location which cause more overhead than in the list. To step forward I can undertake the work to fill up version numbers into OXP List (and I think authors will update thes...

Re: Split: Engine trails
If I recall correctly, COTB's shields OXP had a special effect where sometimes NPCs were suffering fuel leaks after taking damage in combat and the effect was very similar to engine trails. You recall correctly. Although I couldn't say off the top of my head whether the effect is achieved with flas...

Re: Oolite Windows - Trunk nightly builds
Is the trunk supposed to weigh in at 110 MB? The 1.77.1 weighs ~30 MB... Yes. There has been an upgrade to the base models and textures for all core ships. We are now using CaptSolo's non-shadered textures for Griff's models by default, which is why the size has increased more than threefold. Phew,...

Nice nostalgic effect.
(Although personally I appreciate the quality of my current screen over the small black and white TV set that I was using back then. Thus I won't use it.)

Re: OXP Collection
An alternate idea I just had is bundling some small OXPs together with the game releases, maybe: a) some of those mentioned in http://oolite.aegidian.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11885&start=30 b) some small ones like IFF Police Scanner Upgrade, Bounty Scanner, Dock Assist Systems, Target Autolock, T...

Re: ECM Jammer from Thargoid Missions
<checks date on previous post> :P I think TL9 is the highest for Anarchies. OK, so I assume that the Hackers can't fix the ECM Jammer since Hackers only appear in Anarchy systems. Thanks. Indeed, they can't. Hacker Outposts have tech level of 10, IIRC. Thus they're superior to the main station in t...

Re: Medals and awards?
A "display medals and awards" function via the interface screen (F4) seems doable. Of course there would be a common format needed how OXPs represent their awards ( a mission variable beginning with award_ and containing a text string to be displayed would do ). Then a script could extract all these...
