Tunnel texture is 528 x 514. I thought Oolite doesn't handle non-power-of-two, non-square textures? Or it internally converts them to the next power of two? If it's only about your own rear laser, there's a much easier way: Don't install one in the first place. None of the core ships comes equipped with a rear laser when you buy it, and few OXP ships do. I was immediately thinking of including trading, because that's a vital part of Aegidian's own out-of-game tutorial, his "Lave to Zaonce" video. Probably not everybody who is currently active here has seen it. But I'd consider it an inspiration for an in-game tutorial.

Ok, that explains a lot. Thanks for the explanation. Any idea if this will change in the future? I think not. It's part of the legacy scripting engine, and thus it's sort of obsolete anyway.
