Hi there. You can't actually land on the planets, and so that is why you crashed into it  You have to dock at a space station found near the planets. There is an introductory tutorial here: - http://oolite.aegidian.org/tutorial/ and also, tonnes of useful info here: - http://wiki.alioth.net/in...

How about an idea incorporating a trade embargo, or sanctions, against a specific system(s)? It could work either way: a) You are a lone trader trying to break the trade ban for massive profits, b) You are employed by the Navy to prevent such low-life scum as above from breaking the embargo. Not sur...

I've run Oolite on my PowerBook which has a widescreen monitor, and everything looks fine. The planets are round, just like they are on my non-widescreen monitor. I think that this should be taken care of my the graphics card and the OS, and so distortion should not occur. I don't know if this is th...

ANYTHING by Arthur C Clarke is highly recommended.

(OK, I haven't read ALL of them, but what I have read has always been superb)

Also - would it be possible for OXP writers to call the readme: -
'my_great_oxp.txt' for example?

I like to keep all my readme's in a single folder, and it's a pain renaming all the ones called readme.txt.

Thanks . . .

How about one with a picture of George Lucas, and the phrase: -
"If you see this man, shoot first!"

Re: Hi Selezen!

Has the mighty Sung given his blessing for this? I seem to remember he was rather reluctant to let the official Oolite community use the textures when he departed. Actually, yes, he did so personally. I am hosting his textures now :D Cool! I've been using those textures in a bodged together OXP of ...

Don't mistake capitalism and trade; even communists understand the need to create, and trade their production surpluses for otherwise unavailable commodities... Yeah - I suppose the guys at the top still need their luxuries. The serfs can make do with potatoes and rice ;-) Communism - great idea, b...

I just thought of something... Shouldn't the YAH material be banned on communist systems, along with the Black Monks? Now that's a nice idea! Although - would the Commies also be happy about us capitalist scum coming in to corrupt the place with the evils of free-market trading? Still, I do like yo...
