Losing the witchpoint beacon seems to be caused by GALCOP itself. I just jumped to a system and two vipers are passing by. I've stopped to identify the other ships nearby and the vipers are passing the beacon, turning by 180 degree and going straight into the beacon. Haha. Over and out for them and...

I think Lestradae may have meant to say 'Greater Than 3', and 'Less Than 7'? At least that makes sense anyway. Not that I'm any great authority as I'm still at the very basic stages of learning scripting. Note - Oolite is the first thing to get me interested in coding again (unless you count HTML ;-...

Overall, I think these planet textures look absolutely beautiful, and definitely enhance the 'realism' of the game. I agree that the other planets and moons do look too close to one another, but if they were spread out too much, we'd never really get to see them! Well done CaptKev, and all of the ot...

No planet in system, and graphical glitch

Hi. Hope this report helps someone. I had just left Isinor station (Galaxy 1), and turned around to face it during a dogfight. I could not see the station, but instead had a large blue 'laser effect' pointing at (and around) me from it. This seemed to have no effect on my ship. (I didn't take a scre...

Wow!
These are looking really good.
Can't wait to rip-off some of these planets inhabitants, er, help supply some well deserved medical supplies and luxury items. ;-)

While I’m complaining, having less ships in demoships.plist would be nice. Including each variation of the nav buoy billboard is rather pointless for those of us not testing the OXP. I didn't really want to say, but this annoys me a little too ;-) (Yes, I'm sad and sometimes just watch the pretty s...

Brilliant! Lots of very informative help there, written in a great style that really gels with the theme of the game. As a relative newbie, you've certainly helped me a little on my way to galactic entrepreneurship. (I may even remember it in years to come when I've got your rust-bucket in the sites...

On a tangent - if I compile Oolite myself (on a Mac), would I be able to have XCode optimise it for my specific processor (G4)?

Not tried the latest ShipYards oxp yet, but the others seemed fine.
I'm not Deadly yet, so no Thargoid ships for me :-(

Ah! I know who you mean now.
I've not read any of his stuff though.
(Recommended?)

Edit - I think I may have read some of his Conan stuff many years ago.

I strongly second this idea, although I do not 'yet' have the skills required to implement it.

Please forgive my ignorance, but who is R. Jordan?
I definitely agree about the other two great men.

I don't want to be Elite on this forum until I'm Elite in the game!

(So never probably. I never made it too Elite on the C64, Speccy, or Amiga; so I don't think having a Mac is really going to help me.)

CaptKe v <-- Those planets look absolutely bloody gorgeous! I'm sure an OXP with these textures will be a hit on these boards. ( Very subtle hint to get it done, and release it pronto ;-) I'm still quite amazed by the stuff that's being created for this - a completely free version of a twenty-odd y...

. . . and here's little old me thinking that this was just a game ;-) Personally, I think the core game should stick fairly closely to the original Elite, including a few extras from the various platform versions. .OXP's should then be used to 'add' to the Oolite universe, with 'total conversions' an...

There is always the option of adding to the Wiki pages for each mission OXP a difficulty rating (probably best if it echoes the Elite Rating) for instance: . . . < SNIP > . . . Difficulty Rating: This Mission OXP is recommended for Commanders who are Competent and above. Captain Hesperus Now that i...
