As it requires editing the textures themselves, it isn't an easy thing to do (though once you have the textures it's easy enough to change the count multiplier, of course). And for what it's worth, I also reduced the size of all the stars in their textures (basically doubling the canvas size then halving the texture size) so the stars aren't so big anymore, either -- then added a star_count_multiplier value of 2 to compensate. Much nicer starfield.

Pardon me for dredging up an old thread, but... Is there a way to reduce the size of the space dust? Ideally I'd rather the blocks be half the size they are now. They're rather enormous at the moment. I thought the little 16x16 oolite-particle-dust.png was what was being used, but adjusting the alph...

Another possibility perhaps is simply to have the casino inside the constore. From the looks of the constore, obviously there are bars and other businesses intended to be in them, so why not a casino as well? Even without a market that should do fine. Here's a crazy idea... Since most people don't like the constores, but their model is so cool, why not use the constore model as the casino? Could even have different casinos in different systems, parodies of real casinos: Hoorah's, Monte Carloo, Nooget, Poopermill (OK maybe not that one... Peppermo...

And you might look into 1.5.9. Not sure how well even that runs in current Oolite, but it's bound to be better than 1.5.6.

I think I tried testing late one night before bed, but I died before completing the contract, so couldn't tell if it worked, and had no more time to try another run. Haven't started Oolite since then -- several months ago, alas.

Although I made what I believe are fixes for that save-then-load bug about nine months ago or so... I still have not tested it as I stopped playing Oolite long before then!
