Re: Using a controller

I just installed the Logitech software and then immediately ignored it since I thought it would not provide any functionality to Oolite. So how does one use the Logitech software and make it usable for Oolite? Or do I setup the buttons, triggers and hat under the Logitech software and launch oolite ...

Re: Using a controller

I use a Logitech F310, which has the same button/stick layout, and this is what I have set: Left stick push: Request docking clearance (Shift-L) Thanks for the configuration, because although I had configured my gamepad, it never seem to be optimal. I am somewhat bummed out since my LT seems to hav...

Re: [Release] Andromeda OXP v1.5

I just ended up with the andromeda, and for the life of me, I can't seem to send my cargo ship to the station. I have tried to target the station, and i still can't seem to get the cargo ship to launch.

Re: Gamepad F310 under Mint 17.1

Anyone with a little guidance? I have yet to get any success with using ubuntu-xboxdrv to recognize the controller: [106147.101213] usb 3-1: new full-speed USB device number 2 using xhci_hcd [106147.121471] usb 3-1: New USB device found, idVendor=046d, idProduct=c216 [106147.121476] usb 3-1: New USB...

Re: Configuration for the Logitech F310

Thanks for the suggestion... I have decided to head back to linux and I am going to do whatever I need to in order to get xboxdrv working on my machine. I fired up Windoze and continued to have continied problems. How a quad i7 with 8G can have some many issues, I do not know, but it was enough for ...

Configuration for the Logitech F310

I became somewhat bothered with trying to do Oolite 1.80 under Linux since I was having issues with xboxdrv. So I eased into the dark side and fired up Windows 7 and in the process of pulling down every expansion that I can find. Meantime, I was google and found that someone had properly configured ...

Gamepad F310 under Mint 17.1

I ran across an older posting about this particular controller, but I have not been able to make it work under Mint. Someone had also did a tutorial for using xboxdrv using a Xbox One controller, but when I tried to try some of the methods, I notice that no of my expansions loaded. If anyone is usin...

Re: Back for more punishment. Suggestion for controllers

Yes, I suppose I will have to go back to a Rumblepad 2... I would rather a joystick, but A.) I am not a fan of wires, and B.) considering that I will probably be sitting on the bed, I am sure that a JS would not be optimal... *** While stumbling around Walmart, I came across a F310 so once I can rem...

Back for more punishment. Suggestion for controllers

Ok, I have been away from Oolite for awhile, but heading back into the galaxy soon. Since I am playing on my linux machine, I would like a couple of pointers for a decent controller. I have used the rumblepad 2 and it was nt too bad except for the fact that I always had issue with yaw control. I don...

Re: Joystick choices

Nice looking 'stick. I like the way the outrigger sections rotate to reduce the footprint when not in use. I just wonder if it actually allows be to yaw with the main stick or would I have to get creative me with a button. I have seen some that allow for x, y and z axis control with the main stick....

Re: Joystick choices

Whilst I missed posting in the thread that maaarcooose mentioned, I can report that the Saitek Cyborg EVO joystick performs flawlessly on my Linux machine. Thanks for the suggestion. I think I am going to try my hand at the Saitek PS38 Cyborg F.L.Y5 Flight Stick and hope that this is a winner for m...

Joystick choices

Ok, once again it is time to tackle the Oomniverse and and strive for the Elite status of old. I have OOlite 1.77 working nicely on my i7 quad core machine under Ubuntu 12.10, but I found that my Saitek P3000 game pad doesn't play nicely with Linux, and the other generic game pad I will have no word...

Re: Oolite on Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 1 works without major tweaks

No issues at all... I just haven't tried to install it yet. I was looking to see if there was a .deb file to make things run a little easier or did I just pull down the run file and just call is a day? That is the only thing I was interested in... It has been a while since I last installed and was c...

Re: Oolite on Ubuntu 12.10 Beta 1 works without major tweaks

Ok, so is there a deb available to get Oolite working under 12.10 or do I have to do do it from source or the RUN file? Hmm, I wouldn't bother with 12.10 just yet. I have a second HD on an old dell dimension with 12.10 on it, and I can tell you, the performance is awful (though, I'm sure you know t...
