Nope. Specter and/or Meltdown also affec...

Re: Want macros for Oolite? Here's one way to do that.

It's just my opinion, but feeling the need for macros is the sign that something is wrong in the game: one usually automates the boring and dumb stuff. Why is this stuff still in the game? I've been a few times in the situation cwalen describes: I did accept a bunch of contracts without looking clos...

Re: Ideally Imperfect OOniverse: Calibrated Hyperspace jumps.

I'm not sure about factoring-in the service level because currently players have no control on it, in the sense that a) it is mostly hidden (you can try to keep track of it by monitoring the resell value of the ship, but it only gives a rough idea) and b) one cannot do a maintenance overhaul at anyt...

Re: Oolite Tactics

I believe Fuel Tank OXP (3LY of fuel on a pylon) should be mentioned. It's a pretty good life insurance. The price tag is a bit ridiculous given how flexible it is. OTOH a more "fair" price tag (I think around 400Cr would be more correct as it is at least as valuable as a hardhead) would make it not...

Re: Introduction and questions

I believe you uninstalled Spara's Starting Choices. It modifies the Adder to allow a cargo bay extension so you can fit a passenger berth.

Re: Oolite Tactics

Maybe mention the correct buy order for equipment: sell pulse laser to buy injectors, then ECM and beam laser. Also, at the beginning, since you can't really do anything else but trade to buy the basic equipment, one should advise players not to buy equipment as soon as they have the money, but only...

Re: [Release] Space Crowds

... But before that I have to fix a few minor issues: Boulders spawn with a red glow. I believe that's because by default they spawn with a high temperature as if they were just fragmented by a mining laser. Traders still have a tendency to jump out of the system, which is not a consistent behavior ...

Re: [Release] Space Crowds

Vipers versus Stellar Serpents is now available from the manager. I kind of forgot to release it properly.

I'm considering as the next extension a more-or-less big pack of Star Jellies. So more of a "decorative" extension unless there's a way to add some spice to the encounter?

Adder Start

A little OXP that lets you start with 1000Cr and an Adder with a 5TC cargo bay. The extra credits and the extended cargo bay gives a good boost to the progression and gives more options. Among them is the possibility to start relatively quickly Quirium harvesting with phkb's fuel tweaks (note that a...

Re: Issues with Graphics in Linux

Can you post the beginning of your logs (Latest.log in the Logs directory; copy up to "Resources paths", it should be enough) which includes info about your graphics card detection, so that people who know that stuff can take a look at it?

Re: Jobs

Some players focus on trade, some others on fights but I think the least common denominator is that everyone wants to see stars, planets and ships. I think there's room for low-pay, repeatable jobs within a system, like mining or in-system taxi, but perhaps more reliable (in the sense that they are ...

Re: (WIP) GalCop's Most wanted

The main function of WP buoys is of course to mark a dangerous zone where ships could pop anywhere and anytime. They also have a built-in transmitter that broadcasts its coordinates which the ASC automatically picks up.

FWIW the version I've uploaded a few weeks ago was borken: switching modes didn't work.

Also, who should I talk to in order to have a 1.87 version tag for the manager?

Re: Compass target mode autoswitch

Sorry, I still don't really understand. However, I'll try the target memory extension, the warrant scanner and the manifest scanner to figure out how to improve things.
