using Blender isn't the issue. While I'm no pro at it, I can and have used it to convert models on occasion (I normally use Bryce for actually working on a model, as it's a little more intuitive, if much less powerful)
The issue is that I have no idea how to take a model made in any 3D program and turn it into an OXP.
Is there any beginners tutorial or maybe a thread here on the forum that discusses the basics of making OXPs and specifically ones to add new models to the universe?
And just to quell any outrage, I'm not looking to import the entire Star Trek Universe, or make a full conversion like Vega Trek did with Vega Strike... I just want ONE SHIP. Because I love the looks of that ship.
I was under the impression this thread was a "Suggestion Box" (wondering where I got that idea from) and figured maybe somebody that makes ships for the game would like the challenge. I guess not.
If I can find the info on how to do it myself, then perhaps I will. But it's not making the model that I need info about, it's how to make that model into an OXP that the game can use...
